Holy Sheet Mask

Have you noticed lately the increased amount of celebrities on Instagram striking a strong resemblance to the Phantom of the Opera? Don’t worry – it’s only the latest Korean Beauty trend that has swept the world off its feet.

Say hello to sheet masks – in particular the Seoulista Beauty sheet masks.21751440_2090466114304217_6343296952154585556_n

When even Justin Bieber himself posts about his experience with them, you know this trend has gone pop. Try the Seoulista Beauty sheet mask One Time and you’ll be sure to Love Yourself afterwards.

Lol. Apologies for the pun, is it too late now to say sorry?

OK. I’m done. Back to the task at hand.

It’s a well-known fact that South Korea is the epicentre of new beauty technology – so it’s no surprise that they started the sheet mask trend and the rest of the world has followed suit, with many UK brands coming out with their own version.

What’s different about the Seoulista Sheet Masks, is that they are actually made in South Korea and created and tested by Dermatologists. This combination is sure to result in the most amazing face mask ever created, right?

In the name of investigative journalism, I tried them myself to find out.

As an avid face mask user, I was intrigued to try the Seoulista Sheet Masks I had heard so much about.

I was lucky enough to get my eager little hands on 4 of the sought after products; Super Hydration, Brightening, Correct & Calm and Charcoal Detox.

I decided to start off with the Brightening Instant Facial sheet mask. This one is infused with Vitamin C & AHA’s (I had no idea what that meant either, but Google told me that they are naturally occurring substances found in various fruits, sugar cane and sour milk. The more you know)

As I sceptically opened the very ‘instagrammable’ package, and slapped on the serum-soaked mask, an immediate wave of freshness hit my face.

It was like I could feel the mask working.

You can never really tell straight off the bat how effective skincare treatments are as it’s recommended that you use them weekly to see any real differences in your skin, usually.

But after 20 minutes of wearing this mask and frightening my entire family with the Freddy Krueger-like appearance, I noticed that my skin appeared significantly brighter.

My skin felt ‘awake’ and the mask managed to help hide the fact that I’ve been tired since 2010.

P.S there is NO WAY you can make this look attractive, I learnt the hard way.

Personally, I highly recommend that you use this mask a few hours before you apply your makeup as it will help provide an even base and your skin will shine through your foundation, giving you that natural glow.

Feeling hopeful, I tried the rest of the masks so I could provide a full review of the product (over a few weeks of course).

-The Super Hydration Mask left my skin super hydrated.
-The Correct & Calm Mask corrected and calmed my skin.
-The Charcoal Detox Mask left my skin feeling detoxified (if that’s even a word).

Overall, they do what they say on the tin!

Reminder: Don’t forget to take off the mask before you answer the door to the delivery man!
